KOMPANIET PANTERBIFFENE

The Theatre company consisting of Toril Goksøyr, Maria Joynt and Linn Cecilie Ulvin, was founded in 1991. From
1991 to 1998 the company made a great number of theatreshows and performances in Norway and Europe.

Kompaniet Panterbiffene worked with physical theatre, and became an important on the ninetys fringe theatre scene in Norway. The company developed their own artistic expression, where the three members and interaction between them, was the startingpoint for theatre shows and site spesific performances. In addition to being preoccupied by music, dance, fine art and performing arts, was the collective the group existed as, both a way of working and a method in the investigation of themes as gender, body and communication.

Kompaniet Panterbiffenes arena was first of all the fringe theatre scene, but the group also showed their performances in museums and festivals, and even made use of the public space. Kompaniet Panterbiffene has among others showed performance and theatre shows at The Museum Of Contemporary Art, Norway, Glastonbury Festival, England, in the windows of the shopping mall Glasmagasinet in Oslo, and on the street during Festival d`Avignon in France, Black Box Teater, Oslo, Avantgarden in Trondheim and Entré Scenen i Århus, Danmark.

Artisticly the company delivered the total of their performances. They wrote the texts, did directing, performed and where responsible for the esthetics and content, also scenography and sound.

There is no reason for taking short cuts: Kompaniet Panterbiffene gives the audience an extraordinaily sofisticated performance. It is a long time since I saw a tight performance-consept as this accomplished with such good aim and elegance.
